The IPL is the loudest cricket event in the region, and its noise bleeds into prices. Popular teams and players attract money, and the books know it. This guide explains the main markets and the ways fan loyalty quietly costs you value. We did not record cricket markets when we checked BDBAJEE on 7 November 2026, so read its sports page on its own site or app.
Hype and the price
When a very popular team plays, money flows to it from casual fans. Books respond by shortening that side and lengthening the opponent, even when the contest is even. So a fan backing their favourite team is often paying a worse price than a neutral would. Ask yourself if you would bet the same way on a team you did not support.
The same applies to star batters in top-batter markets. A famous name is usually priced shorter than their strike rate suggests.
Main markets
Match winner, top batter, top bowler, total runs and sixes are the usual set. Season-long markets such as the tournament winner tie up money for weeks, which is a poor fit if you need that money in a month.
- Match winner.
- Top batter or bowler.
- Total runs or sixes.
- Tournament winner, a long-term bet.
Conditions and toss
Pitch, dew and ground size change scoring. Short boundaries favour hitters; slow surfaces help spin. The toss matters when teams prefer to chase. Read market rules for reduced-over games, which are common when rain interrupts, and see cricket odds for the maths behind the price.
Pacing a long season
A season runs for weeks with several matches a day at times. If you bet on all of them, a budget will vanish. Choose one or two matches per week you actually follow, not every fixture on the list. Use live cricket betting as the checklist for in-play, and keep an eye on cricket betting for the wider guide.
Streams, social media and noise
Highlights and social posts exaggerate the memorable, so a batter who hit a six last week feels like a lock. Check the full record, not the clip. A loud group chat is not research, and a confident voice is not a forecast.
If you find yourself placing bets because everyone in the chat is, step away for ten minutes first.
Whatever you decide, remember that BDBAJEE's own pages are the source for current markets, limits and rules. Read them there, and come back to our guides for the general picture. If the numbers on the screen feel unclear, wait until they do before you stake anything at all.
In three steps
